What Are Strawberry Legs

Strawberry legs are a skin condition that you experience as little dark or red spots all over your legs similar to the seeds on a strawberry skin. The cause of such a skin condition can be different, but it is not incurable. By proper care, we can definitely get rid of this skin condition. If you find it impossible to cure this problem after trying such home-remedies, you better consult a dermatologist and discuss further treatments.

How to Prevent strawberry legs

1. Cleanse Your Legs

Cleanse your legs at-least two times a day to remove the dirt and impurities which clog the pores in your skin. Accumulating dirt and sweat in the pores of your leg leads to clogged pores and makes the skin condition more worse. You can use a mild cleanser to keep them clean.

2. Exfoliate


Exfoliation is the key to keep your legs smooth and soft. It effectively removes the dead skin cells along with the residue impurities after daily cleansing. Exfoliate your legs at least 2 times a week to prevent strawberry legs and make it more smoother.

3. Moisturize

It is very important to keep your legs well moisturized, otherwise it will turn to dry and flaky. So to prevent strawberry legs, keep you skin well nourished by using a daily moisturizer which doesn't clog your pores. While choosing a daily moisturizer, select the one which labelled non-comedogenic.

4. Shave Carefully


Improper shaving methods always leads to strawberry legs. Use a clean and good quality razor while shaving your legs. Apply a shaving cream to your legs before shaving and never shave when your legs are dry. It is better to wash your legs with lukewarm water before you shave. Use some soothing lotion/cream after shaving.

5. Waxing / Epilating


If the bumps on your legs are due to ingrown hairs or as a rash mark after shaving, try some other methods to remove hair from your legs. Waxing or Epilating are some other methods, you can give a try. Since these methods remove hair from the follicles, there are less chances to get strawberry legs due to ingrown hairs.

Natural Remedies for Strawberry Legs:

Sugar Scrub:

Make a sugar scrub with brown sugar and any oil you like (coconut oil, olive oil,...). Add 1 teaspoon lemon juice to it. Massage your legs with this scrub and then rinse with water. This will help to remove dead cells and other clogged dirt from your hair follicles.


Coconut Oil:

Massage your legs with coconut oil after shaving or waxing your legs. It will make your legs more smooth and soft.


Sandalwood Powder:

Mix sandalwood powder and turmeric powder in a ratio 3:1 and make it a paste using milk or rose water. Apply it on legs and rinse after 20 minutes.


Aloe-vera Gel:

Use aloe-vera gel as a soothing cream after Hair removal. It will help to soothe your skin and reduces the chances of rash after shaving.


Coffee Scrub:

Use ground coffee as an exfoliator. Massage your legs with ground coffee while taking shower.


Cucumber Paste

Make a thick paste of cucumber mixed with rose water and apply it on your legs. Rinse it after 20 minutes.
