How To Wax Your Legs At Home


Hi, Waxing is one of the most tedious and definitely, a little painful body-grooming task, while we try to do it ourselves at home. Most groomers prefer waxing to other hair removing methods like shaving, because it will keep your skin more smoother for a long time. Going to a parlor or salon to get the waxing done, will be a little bit expensive and time-consuming.  If you Know the basics of waxing, this process is not a complicated one. Try it yourself and definitely you will get a best result out of it.

1. Select the right wax:


There are different types of waxing kits available in the market. Select the one which is convenient for you. If  you are a beginner and not familiar to waxing, it is better for you to use some waxing strips which are easily available in the market. Otherwise, you can go for a good waxing kit. Always look for a waxing kit that will be easy to wash off. Sugar based waxes are easy to rinse off.

2. Prepare your skin:


To achieve the best result after waxing, exfoliate your legs at least 24 hours before waxing. And before waxing your legs, you have to cleanse it to remove any dirt or excess oil. Use warm water to clean your legs because it helps to open  the hair follicles and thereby helps to remove it easily. Trim the hair with scissors, if they are too longer (ie. more than half inch length).

3. Never rush:

As we know, waxing is a time-consuming task. Take your own time to get a smooth and easy waxing experience. If you are in a rush, it is going to be one of the most tedious, painful and messy task. So be relaxed and get ready for a perfect waxing experience.

4. How to do :

If you are using waxing strips or waxing kits, read the instructions carefully. Using waxing strips will be much more easier for you, if you are not too familiar with waxing.


Using waxing-strips,
  • Warm the strip by rubbing it between your palms.
  • Open the strip and apply it to the area where it needs to be waxed.
  • Gently press and soothe it in the direction of hair growth.
  • By holding the bottom of the strip, pull it quickly in upward direction, opposite to the direction of hair growth.
Using a store bought waxing kit, 


  • Follow the directions written on the kit.
  • Warm the wax according to directions.
  • Spread the wax upon the desired area using the applicator. Make sure that it is applied in the direction of hair growth.
  • Press the waxing strip upon the applied wax and soothe it in the direction of hair growth.
  • Then quickly pull the strip off in the opposite direction of hair growth.
  • Repeat this process on another area of hair growth until it completely removes all the hair from your leg.

5. Soothe your skin after waxing:


Your skin will be a little bit irritated and reddish after waxing. So it is very important to soothe it after waxing. You can use any moisturizing lotion or aloe-vera gel to soothe your skin. Never leave your skin as it is, after waxing.
