Nowadays, a lot of people are preferring more safe-home remedies for dandruff than using the store bought anti-dandruff treatments; because they contain a lot of chemicals and in long run they may cause severe hair loss problems. Using Essential oils is up to some extend, a good remedy to keep your scalp healthy and removes dandruff. So here I am listing some Essential oils which works amazing on your scalp to cure dandruff.
How to Use Essential Oils for Dandruff
On applying essential oils directly to our skin or scalp may cause some irritation or burning sensations. So it is always safe to use them mixed with a carrier oil or shampoo.
To Mix it with a carrier oil (Coconut oil, Olive oil etc.), add 5-6 drops of essential oil to 3 Tablespoon of Carrier oil.
1. Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tea tree oil has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties which works best against dandruff. It provides an immediate relief from itchy scalp and also provides a cooling sensation. It works best on dandruff and lice. It removes the flaky dandruff patches from scalp and unclogs the hair follicles. It is a very good choice for those who have oily hair.
Keep in mind to use it in a diluted form. Mix it with any oil of your choice and massage to scalp for best results.
2. Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus oil has anti fungal and antiseptic properties which helps to reduce dandruff and other skin and scalp issues. Eucalyptus oil is a main ingredient in many anti-dandruff oils ,shampoos and other hair products available in market.
Add this essential oil to your regular hair oil or shampoo and give a good massage to your scalp. This will definitely help to reduce the scalp irritation due to dandruff.
3. Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender oil helps to fight with the fungus that causes dandruff. It also helps to soothe the scalp and reduces the itchiness of the scalp. It works on the hair follicles and balances the natural scalp oils.Lavender oil is a good one to promote hair growth.
