By using the right tools and right methods, you can get a perfectly manicured hands and nails within an affordable price range. If you follow the steps, it will make the overall procedure easy without making any mess.
What you need:
- Nail polish remover
- cotton swabs
- Nail clipper
- Nail file
- Nail Buffer
- Face wash
- Luke warm water
- Exfoliator
- Clean towel
- Cuticle pusher
- Hand cream / Moisturizer
- Nail polish
- Base/top coat
Steps:
1. Remove Your Nail Polish
Remove your old nail polish using the nail polish remover and cotton swabs. Select a Nail Polish remover that doesn't contain acetone, which will make your nails feel dry. You can also use nail polish removing wipes for convenience.
2. Shape Your Nails
Clip your nail first, only if it is necessary. Then file your nail to give them a perfect shape. Be sure that you are not inserting excessive pressure on nails, which will damage your nails. Do the filing in one direction and do not drag back and forth, which makes the nails break easily. Then smooth out your nails with a nail buffer.
3. Soak and Exfoliate
Get a bowl of warm water and add some drops of face wash into it. Mix them well and soak your hands in it for a 3-4 minutes. It cleanses your hands well and loosen all the dead skin, making it easy to remove. It also softens the cuticles.
Then use a scrub or exfoliator to remove all the dirt and dead skin. After that wash your hands with clean water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
4. Push back Cuticles
Gently push back the cuticles. Be very gentle on doing this, otherwise it can damage your nails. If needed, you can also use a cuticle remover which will make the process more easier.
5. Apply Hand Cream
Apply a hand cream or moisturizer on your hands and massage gently. Keep it there for few minutes. This will hydrate your hands making it smooth and soft.
6. Apply Nail Polish
It is completely an optional step. If you want to paint your nails, remove the moisturizer from nails using a cotton swab. Apply a base coat first. Then apply the first coat of your favorite nail color. Let it dry for a few minutes. Then apply the second coat. Apply a top coat to enhance the shine. Clean the edges using a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover, to remove the extra nail polish on sides of nails.
