Beauty / Skin care tips for travelers


Hi, Most of us like travels. It is a great chance to explore different places, countries and cultures. But taking care of our skin while travelling is very important as we need to keep ourselves fresh and good looking. First of all, you need to know what happens to your skin on travelling. The skin become much more dehydrated and exhausted due to long haul flights, cabin pressure, climatic changes, change in diet etc. So we can think what are the best methods to protect our skin during and after a long flight....

Prepare Your Skin


  • Include a good hydrating moisturizer in your skin care regimen at least two weeks before travel.
  • One night before travel, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser and apply a hydrating mask. 
  • If you have black heads/ white heads, you can also use a gentle face scrub before  applying the  mask.
  • Then moisturize your face with a good moisturizer perfect for your skin type.
  • Hydrate your body by drinking plenty of water so that your skin will feel fresh.
  • Eat a good amount of fruits and vegetables the day before you travel.
  • Get a good sleep too.

Prepare Your To Go Beauty Kit

Separate your skin care and makeup items in to two.
  1. Basic skin care/ makeup 
  2. Extra skin care/ makeup/ Hair care  
1. The basic things you must keep in your beauty kit are:


  • Makeup remover : Keep a good quality makeup remover with you. Makeup removing wipes are more convenient for travel than a traditional liquid makeup remover.
  • Moisturizer : You can use a good moisture with SPF if you don't use a separate sunscreen
  • Sunscreen lotion : Use a good sunscreen lotion which matches your skin type.
  • Lip Balm : Keep a hydrating lip balm. If you like to use a tinted one, go for that.
  • Hair Brush
If you want to add a little more perfection for your face, you can use a tinted moisturizer or a tinted sunscreen. Pack all these things in a clear bag for convenience and keep it in your hand carrying bag. Make sure that none of these products exceeds the allowed size / weight.

2. The Extra things you must keep in your beauty kit are:

Apart from the basic skin care items, you can pack anything that you like to use as a part of your makeup/skincare regimen, in your bag (preferably check-in bags ). Here I am mentioning some of these extra makeup , skin and hair care items for your convenience....


Skin care items

  • A gentle cleanser
  • A hydrating face mask
  • A Face Toner  
  • A Face Serum (Only if you are familiar with serums)

Makeup items

  • Face Primer
  • Foundation/ BB Cream/ CC Cream
  • Compact powder
  • Bronzer-Blush-Highlighter
  • Eye shadow
  • Eye liner/Eye pencil
  • Lipstick/ Lip liner/ Lip gloss
  • Makeup Brushes
  • Nail polish
  • Nail Polish remover
  • Nail cutter/filer
Note : These things I am mentioning are completely optional and don't try to use these things unless you are familiar with it.

Hair care Items

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Hair serum
  • Hair Straightener/ Curler
# Dont pack any unnecessary items/ prohibited items

Start Your Journey


  • Avoid foundation/BB/CC cream on the day of travel.
  • Apply only moisturizer and lip balm.
  • Avoid long-lasting lipsticks, they will dehydrate your mouth.
  • Wipe your face with a cool wet cloth/towel if you want to feel fresh, also this will help to remove puffiness around eyes.
  • Apply moisturizer and lip balm when your face/lips feels dry.
  • Secure your hair with some braids or using bands.
  • Try to sleep well on long-haul travels.
  • Before landing, you can wash your face with cold water, and apply some tinted moisturizer/sunscreen for a fresh look.
  • Apply some tinted lip balm if you are comfortable with it.
