Hi, Do you know what is
a Hair Spa is all about: Actually it is a great relaxation technique for hair.
Like our skin, we have to pamper our hair to make it beautiful and healthy
looking. Hair spa is a great idea to rejuvenate and protect your hair. Beauty salons
do offer hair spa treatments, but they are costly. You can easily do a hair spa
at your home and solve your hair problems like dry, frizzy, brittle and damaged
hair. So get a hair spa at home, and be relaxed....
Why You Need A Hair Spa?
- Provides you a well nourished healthy hair
- Removes all impurities from hair and scalp
- Treats and removes dandruff
- Provides a deep conditioning to your hair
- Prevents dull hair and promotes a healthy hair
- Relieves stress
- Restore scalp health and normalize oil secretion
Steps:
1. Massage Your scalp
This is the first step
in hair spa treatment. A good massage improves the blood circulation in the
scalp and boosts the hair growth.
Prepare a Massage oil:
Take 2-3 Tablespoon of coconut/olive oil (which is suitable for you) and warm
it up using a stove or microwave. You can also mix these oils and prepare your
massage oil. Then massage your scalp with the oil with your fingertips for 5-6
minutes. Then spread the rest of the oil on your hair and tips.
2. Steam Your Hair and Scalp
Steaming the hair and
scalp helps to open up the hair follicles and thereby improves the absorption
of oils to nourish scalp and hair.
Take a clean towel and
dip it in warm water. Squeeze out the excess water from the towel. Wrap it
around your head and hair. Repeat this step when the towel becomes cool. Do
this step for 10-15 minutes.
3. Wash Your Hair
Wash your hair with a
mild shampoo to remove the excess oil from your scalp and hair. This step will
make your hair and scalp so clean.
Wet your head and
massage your scalp and hair with a mild shampoo for 2 minutes. Then rinse with
cold/lukewarm water. Never use hot water that will damage your hair. You can
double shampoo your hair if you have a very oily hair.
You can use a natural
shampoo like, Hibiscus powder & Shikakai powder if you don't want to use
any store-bought shampoo.
4. Apply Conditioner
Remove the excess water
from your hair and apply a good conditioner. Apply the conditioner on your hair,
not scalp. Then massage your hair for 1-2 minutes and rinse off the conditioner
completely.
If you don't want to use
a commercial or store-bought conditioner, you can use a natural one like Aloe
Vera or black tea water, which is suitable for you. If you are using black
tea water as conditioner, no need to rinse it off completely.
5. Apply Hair Mask
The next step is to
pamper and nourish your hair with a good hair mask. If the mask is a store
bought one, follow the instructions on it and apply the mask.
As I told earlier, you
can use a home made mask in place of a store-bought one.
