How To Choose The Best Bold Lip Color For You



Hi, All of us are very familiar with bold lip colors. Definitely we have some bold colors in our lip ware collection. We see people /friends/celebrities wearing  awesome lip shades, but on trying those shades ourselves, it may be a complete failure. And of course we have to wear some bold colors on some occasions even if we are not a big fan of bold colors. The greatest dilemma comes from selecting the perfect shade that enhance your overall look and appearance.  Here I am providing some tips to select the perfect bold lip color for you.

1. Select based on your Undertone

This is the basic step you have to follow. Find whether you have a warm/neutral/cool skin undertone. Check the veins of your wrist: If they appear green,  you have a warm skin tone. If they are blue, you are cool-toned. If you have a difficulty in identifying the color of veins, you have a neutral skin tone.

Warm Tone: Select a shade with Orange undertone. The shades like Orange red, Coral, Peach are look flattering on you.
Cool Tone: Pick a shade with blue or purple undertone. The shades best suits for cool undertone are Red with blue tinge, Magenta,Rosy pinks.
Neutral Tone: If you are neutral-toned, you can select any shades comes under both this categories

2. Know your skin tone

Fair Skin: 

Fair and very fair skins are always complemented with bold shades. Red or raspberry lips enhance your overall look. If you are cool toned, Pick a bluish red and if warm toned, select an orange red.  


My suggestions for fair skin,

Cool undertone: MAC Russian Red

                               Revlon Showy

Warm undertone: Loreal pure vermeil
                                  Revlon Dahlia
                                  MAC Lady Danger

Medium Skin: 

Pink and Berry shades best suits for Medium skin. For cool-undertones, try a magenta or cranberry, coffee brown shade. For warm-undertones, select a bronze or tangerine shade.

Dark skin:

For cool tones, select plum ,deep wine shade. For warm tones try a deep coral, brown shade with orange undertone.

Warm undertone:  Maybelline wine festival

These are only some guidelines to ease your effort in selecting a matching lip color.  There are no such strict-to-follow rules for selecting a perfect match for you. A large variety of lip colors are available today which complements all skin types.
